Lance Whitney gets 47 months for methamphetamines, felon with a weapon, and burglary
A 47-year old Leavenworth man was sentenced to 27 months in prison for possession of methamphetamine Friday morning in Leavenworth District Court. He was also sentenced on three other cases involving residential burglaries and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Lance Derek Whitney appeared in court Friday morning with his attorney on four cases. District Judge, Gunnar Sundby imposed sentences of 27 months for possession of methamphetamine, 27 months on each of two residential burglary cases, and 19 months for possessing a firearm with a felony conviction. The sentences were ordered to be served concurrently with the Kansas Department of Corrections. The methamphetamine case, one of the burglary cases and the firearm case occurred in May, 2013. The other burglary case occurred some time between November, 2012 and January, 2013. Whitney had been released on bond, but he was taken into custody following sentencing.
